Taif: Another Gateway to Makkah
Not every pilgrim arrives through Jeddah. Some find a better flight into Taif International Airport (TIF), or spend a few days in Taif before going down to Makkah. The road from Taif to Makkah is a scenic mountain route, but it calls for a driver who knows it, especially with children, elderly relatives or lots of luggage. Umrah Taxi arranges a private car that starts in the arrivals hall and ends at your hotel door in Makkah.
Ihram Comes First
If you are coming for Umrah, your route from Taif passes a miqat before Makkah: Qarn al-Manazil (As-Sail al-Kabir), or Wadi Muhrim if the driver takes the Al Hada road. Tell us when you book that you are doing Umrah, and the driver will stop there so you can bathe and put on ihram if you have not done so already, then carry on to Makkah. Keep your ihram clothes in your hand luggage so you don't have to open the big suitcases.
The Ride From Touchdown
- We track your flight, and the driver's time moves if your landing time changes.
- The driver waits in arrivals with a sign bearing your name, and you have 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.
- He leaves the airport and crosses Taif towards the Makkah road.
- He stops at the miqat if you ask.
- He drives down from the highlands into Makkah and drops you at your hotel or the nearest permitted point to the Haram.
How Long Does It Take?
Makkah and Taif are about 90 km apart via the Al Hada road, plus the drive from the airport across Taif. The total time depends on the route the driver takes, how long you spend at the miqat, and traffic in Makkah when you arrive.
Fare
The fare is fixed for the whole car, not per passenger, and we confirm it on WhatsApp before you book, depending on the car type: sedan, family SUV/van, or VIP. You pay on arrival at your hotel, and normal bookings need no prepayment. Category details are on our fleet page.

Pilgrims' Questions
Can I enter ihram on the plane instead of stopping?
That is up to you. If you are already in ihram, tell us and the driver will go straight to Makkah without a miqat stop.
Does the miqat stop cost extra?
No. Stopping at the miqat is part of the ride for anyone who asks.
Will the driver take me to my hotel door?
He will take you to the closest point traffic rules allow around the Haram. Some roads close at peak times.
